Beaches Back in Business As Dine and Discover NSW Goes Live

The NSW Government today announced that it will be shouting you lunch and an opportunity to discover the best of Manly and the Northern Beaches, thanks to the second phase of the Dine and Discover vouchers pilot commencing from today.

Northern Beaches’ residents aged 18 and over will be eligible for four $25 vouchers to support dining, arts and tourism businesses impacted by the pandemic.

Member for Manly, James Griffin, declared that the “beaches are back in business” with the stimulus bringing much needed relief to the community hard hit by the pandemic and COVID restrictions, especially during the busy Christmas period.

“The NSW Government is getting on with delivering support across the board for our local community,” Mr Griffin said.

“These vouchers will boost our entire economy as local tourism hire companies, galleries, and coffee shops across the area take advantage of the vouchers and bring more customers through the door, while providing households with hip pocket relief.”

Approximately 700 businesses in Bega Valley, the Northern Beaches and Sydney CBD will take part in the second phase of Dine & Discover NSW. More than 125,000 NSW residents have been invited to participate in the pilots.

Mr Griffin put the call out to all local businesses to jump on to Service NSW and register for the vouchers.

“I would encourage all local business owners and managers to think about how they can take advantage of the deals by offering special packages or partnering between dining and entertainment experiences,” Mr Griffin said.

“The boom in business these vouchers will bring is vital and the more businesses who sign up means the more people who will come and experience all that Manly has to offer.”

Eligible businesses can register online now and a dedicated team of Service NSW Business Concierges are available to assist with the registration process and tips on how to redeem vouchers.

Following the testing and pilots, Dine & Discover vouchers will be available to all eligible residents of NSW from March. The vouchers will be valid until 30 June 2021.

Customers will be able to search for participating businesses via the Service NSW app or on the Service NSW website.

Dine & Discover NSW vouchers will be divided into two categories:

  • Two $25 vouchers to be used for restaurants, cafes, bars, pubs and clubs from Monday to Thursday, excluding public holidays.
  • Two $25 vouchers to be used for entertainment and recreation, including cultural institutions, live music, and arts venues, available 7 days a week, excluding public holidays.

The vouchers can only be used within eligible businesses that have implemented a COVID Safety Plan and are registered as COVID Safe.
