Curl Curl North Public School Redevelopment

The 2017-18 NSW Budget saw funding secured for the redevelopment of Curl Curl North Public School, a momentous step for the project. After the Project Reference Group was formed in late 2016, representatives from the Department of Education, the school and the P&C have been working together to provide feedback and to endorse the new school's design.

The project's design is still to be finalised, however the redvelopment with reflect a contemporary approach to our children's education, with the architecture sympathetic to North Curl Curl and the Northern Beaches. I will be working as a conduit between members of my community, the Department and the Project Reference Group to get the best outcome for our community. The current project update can be found here.

The current proposed concept design includes:

  • removal of all demountable buildings
  • the retention and repurposing of the existing library for special purposes
  • the retention and reconfiguration of the existing Building the Education Revolution (BER) teaching spaces
  • provide new future-focused teaching spaces, administration/staff facilities, library and hall
  • create a new main entry off Abbott Road, whilst retaining access off Playfair Road
  • maximise open play space.
