Volleyfest Returns to Manly Beach

Some of the world’s best beach volleyball players will return to the iconic sands of Manly Beach next year, with Volleyfest set to take place from 1–10 March 2019.

 

The event has been secured exclusively for Manly by the NSW Government. Member for Manly James Griffin said Manly is the place to be in March next year.

 

“The 2019 event will mark the fifth Volleyfest at Manly Beach and what better place to host Australia’s premier beach volleyball event than the best beach in Australia,” Mr Griffin said.

NSW SES Manly Unit Volunteers Celebrate Service Milestones

Volunteers from the NSW State Emergency Service (NSW SES) Manly Unit have been recognised for their diligent service to the community at a special awards ceremony.

 

Manly MP James Griffin officially presented awards to 17 volunteers from the Manly Unit, including the Commissioner’s Commendation for Service, and Long Service Medals ranging from five years to 25 years of service with the NSW SES.

 

In presenting the awards, Mr Griffin thanked the volunteers for their outstanding work on behalf of the community.

Proactive Policing Keeps Crime in Check on the Northern Beaches

Mr Griffin said that the most recent quarterly data from the Bureau of Crime Statistics and Research (BOCSAR) is a testament to the proactive work of local police in detecting and preventing crime.

B-Line Success - 5.9 Million Passenger Trips in First Year

The NSW Government’s B-Line bus service has carried more people in its first year of operation than the population of Greater Sydney.

 

Minister for Transport and Infrastructure Andrew Constance revealed more than 5.9 million passenger trips have been made on the ground-breaking turn-up-and-go service between the Northern Beaches and the Sydney CBD since it launched in November 2017.
