LOCAL WOMAN OF THE YEAR WINNER ANNOUNCED

James Griffin MP Member for Manly today announced Charlotte Rimmer as Manly’s Local Woman of the Year. Charlotte has helped steer the Manly Business Community through 3 lockdowns and her interaction with both Local and State Governments. Her stewardship of the Manly Business Community during Covid-19 has been exemplary.

Charlotte joined Mr Griffin and Minister for Women Bronnie Taylor at the Woman of the Year Awards, hosted at the ICC, where she received her award among other women celebrated including NSW Woman of the Year, Mrs Anna Barwick.

“It’s a fabulous honour and I love working with the team at the Manly Business Chamber and with Mr Griffin’s office. I’m really looking forward to another fantastic year.” Ms Rimmer said.

This year’s NSW Women’s Week theme is #BreakTheBias which is about empowering women to forge their own path.

Mr Griffin commended Charlotte’s work within the Manly business community.

“Charlotte joined the Manly Business Chamber committee in 2019 and was elected President in 2020. She is a true champion to women who are involved in our local business community, Her guidance and support of those businesses that faced challenges through the pandemic was an inspiration to watch. I think she is truly deserving of this year’s award.” Mr Griffin said.

In addition to her work with the Chamber, Charlotte runs Aide De MD – a company providing training, mentoring, coaching and business management advice.

NSW Women’s week kicked off on Tuesday celebrating International Women’s Day and on Wednesday acknowledged the efforts of women around our state. Information about this year’s Women of the Year Award winners can be found here: https://www.women.nsw.gov.au/
