Taskforce Established to Lead Manly's Economic Recovery

Member for Manly James Griffin has announced the formation of the Manly Tourism & Economic Recovery Taskforce to provide strategic and practical advice to lead Manly through the economic downturn resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Mr Griffin said the Taskforce will focus on reviving our local economy, harnessing the innovative spirit shown throughout the pandemic to build a stronger, more resilient Manly community.

“Over recent months our local tourism trade has been decimated, our hospitality workforce retrenched, and our professional and white-collar workers under significant financial pressure facing job insecurity,” Mr Griffin said.

Safer Speed Zones for Manly

Member for Manly James Griffin has today announced a new reduced school speed zone of 30 km/h will be implemented in Manly to provide a safer environment for local residents to walk, cycle and commute.

“As COVID-19 restrictions ease, we are seeing a higher volume of people walking, cycling and exercising in the area,” Mr Griffin said.

“To support the increase in activity and improve safety, the existing 50 km/h and 40 km/h speed limits will be reduced as Transport for NSW works to transform Sydney’s streets through active transport measures.”
