FAMILIES IN MANLY PREPARE FOR AFFORDABLE PRESCHOOL
Early childhood services across the state, including Manly, are preparing to be part of the NSW Government's landmark $1.3 billion Affordable Preschool Program providing cost of living relief from the beginning of 2023.
Member for Manly James Griffin said the NSW Government’s Start Strong funding guidelines outline how early childhood services across the state will support families in giving their child the best start to life through affordable preschool.
BOOST FOR MANLY BEFORE AND AFTER SCHOOL CARE SERVICES
Working families in Manly are receiving more support with quality Before and After School Care (BASC) thanks to two new grant programs for service providers.
The NSW Government has committed $7.8 million to establish the grants which will encourage providers to offer new, inclusive and sustainable services:
- New Innovation Grants will offer up to $60,000 to stimulate innovation in the sector and help ensure BASC services support more NSW families, including students with additional needs.
- New Development Grants will offer up to $80,000 for staff training and professional development, and marketing to increase take up and promote attractive programs for students.
Member for Manly James Griffin said these grants will support services in providing better educational programs and development for students.
MANLY SWIM SITES RECEIVE ANNUAL REPORT CARD
The report card for the water quality of popular Manly swim spots has been revealed in the annual State of the Beaches report.
Seven monitored swim sites in the Manly Electorate scored Very Good or Good.
The State of the Beaches report has five categories of water quality rating: Very Good, Good, Fair, Poor or Very Poor.
Member for Manly and Minister for Environment James Griffin said residents should check the Beachwatch forecast before swimming.
