MORE THAN 2,000 EXTRA STAFF FOR NSW AMBULANCE

The NSW Government has announced a $1.76 billion boost to frontline emergency care to deliver 2,128 new recruits and 30 more ambulance stations as part of the NSW Government’s 2022-23 Budget.

Member for Manly James Griffin MP said the record investment will ensure the community has access to a quality Ambulance service for years to come.

“With ambulance services across the country experiencing unprecedented demand, the NSW Government is ensuring our communities and our paramedics are well placed for the challenges ahead,” Mr Griffin said.

 


SUPPORT AVAILABLE FOR BUSINESSES FOLLOWING LIGHTWEIGHT PLASTIC BAG BAN

The ban on lightweight plastic bags is now in place in Manly with support and advice available to businesses, organisations and consumers.

Minister for Environment and Member for Manly, James Griffin MP said that while the ban was being implemented this week, extensive consultation with businesses had been happening for years.

“This is a great step towards protecting our environment, and it’s important that businesses know they can get help and advice if they need it,” Mr Griffin said.

“We know there is widespread support among businesses for the plastics ban, and in turn, Manly businesses have been supported through monthly webinars and community sessions as well as ongoing support hotlines.”

 


IMPROVEMENTS TO SCHOOL ZONES IN MANLY ELECTORATE

Manly has received $3,000,050.00 for vital work to improve safety in school zones as part of the $40.9 million School Zone Infrastructure Sub Program.

Member for Manly James Griffin MP said that the School Zone Infrastructure Sub Program, will deliver improvements to help keep children in metropolitan NSW and in Manly even safer as they travel to and from school.

“The Perrottet Government is committed to helping to improve safety around our schools, and the projects in Manly will create safer pedestrian connections for children, their parents and carers, and the school community,” Mr Griffin said.
