NORTHERN BEACHES WELCOMES NEW POLICE OFFICERS

Five new probationary constables will commence duties on the Northern Beaches after they attested at a formal ceremony at the Goulburn Police Academy last week.

Member for Manly James Griffin MP welcomed the new police officers to the Northern Beaches.

“On behalf of the community, I am pleased to welcome the 5 new police officers to the Northern Beaches police area command”. Mr Griffin said.


COURT THERAPY HOUNDS FETCHED BACK TO DUTY IN MANLY

After a precautionary “paws” due to COVID-19, the loveable Labradors of the NSW Government’s Canine Court Companion Program (CCCP) are back on duty at Manly Courthouse Courthouse.

Member for Manly James Griffin MP said the affectionate pooches bring comfort to court users who are often experiencing some of the worst days of their lives.

“These friendly Labradors have been hounding their volunteer handlers to get back to work and make a difference in our local community once again,” Mr Griffin said.

 Commuters are reminded they can travel for free on all modes of public transport across Greater Sydney for 12 days over the Easter holidays starting from this Thursday.

Member for Manly James Griffin MP said millions of free trips will be taken across the Opal network but commuters need to remember to tap on and off.

“The fare free period is designed to boost business and get the community moving, so head out to the Easter Show, catch a game of footy, commemorate Anzac Day or enjoy dinner with family and friends, with the cost of public transport on us,” Mr Griffin said.
