Planning is progressing on major accessibility projects at the Manly waterfront, including an upgrade of Manly Wharf 3 and enhancing the former Sea Life Sanctuary site at Manly Cove.

Minister for Transport and Roads Andrew Constance said Transport for NSW is working on the two projects simultaneously, as part of the NSW Government’s $205 million maritime stimulus spend on infrastructure and safety upgrades.

“This funding will be used to upgrade and improve accessibility at Manly Wharf 3 and enhance the area of the former Manly Sea Life site, owned by Transport for NSW,” Mr Constance said.

The NSW Government is putting out the call for local tradies to install smart LED lights in NSW public schools with the announcement of the third tranche of schools to benefit from the LED Lighting Upgrade Program, taking the total number of participating schools to more than 800. 

The $157.8 million initiative was launched last year in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and is targeted at replacing old inefficient lights in NSW public schools with smart LED lights. 

James Griffin, Member for Manly welcomed the news that schools in the Northern Beaches will have old inefficient lights replaced with smart LED lights, benefiting the eyes and minds of students and the power bills for schools.
