NSW is set to attract more than $37 billion in investment while slashing emissions by 50 per cent below 2005 levels by 2030, under updated projections and objectives released as part of the Net Zero: Stage 1 Implementation Update.  

Premier Gladys Berejiklian said the state’s new objective of halving emissions by 2030 – up from 35 per cent below 2005 levels by 2030 –  shows that NSW is serious about setting itself up for the future while helping the world decarbonise.

“Our Net Zero Plan is expected to attract more than $37 billion in private sector investment into NSW, support more than 9,000 jobs, save households about $130 on their electricity bills and help NSW become Australia’s first trillion-dollar state by 2030,” Ms Berejiklian said.

Member for Manly, James Griffin MP said the community can be assured that the Northern Sydney Local Health District is proactively managing a Covid-19 exposure in Manly. Mr Griffin said, “I would like to thank the staff of the Northern Sydney Local Health District who are working alongside Police to ensure a Covid-19 exposure in Manly is being expertly managed.”

“I encourage people to continue getting tested if they experience the mildest of symptoms, and if they haven’t already, to get vaccinated.’ Mr Griffin said.

“I am advised that public health and infectious disease experts are providing ongoing advice and support to residents of a Manly hotel following a COVID-19 exposure

Like most Manly residents, I was disgusted at the scenes highlighted in the local media and on Social media of the crowds and rubbish at East Esplanade over recent days.

The activities that took place and subsequent mess left behind are disgraceful and must not happen again.

What clearly looked like a contempt for social distancing and COVID safe practices, the blatant disregard for nearby residents, and lack of personal responsibility shown by some attendees is beyond disappointing and their actions put the ongoing use of the space as it is currently used at risk for all.
