Harbord Kikoff Soccer Centre Receives Sport Facility Grant

Sport in the Northern Beaches has received a major boost after the NSW Government announced a $472,640.00 grant for the Harbord Kikoff soccer centre.

The grant was awarded to Harbord Kikoff soccer centre for a project that involves playing field resurfacing, lighting, and fencing of designated playing areas.  While also upgrading the portable disabled access ramps and covered seating.

The grant was part of Round One of the NSW Government’s Greater Cities Sport Facility Fund which will see $50 million awarded to sporting bodies and councils over two years for new and upgraded sports facilities in greater Sydney, Newcastle and Wollongong.


$18.6 Million Boost for Community Projects

Communities across the state are in line for better facilities and infrastructure with the popular Community Building Partnership Program getting an additional $18.6 million injection over two years in the 2021-22 NSW Budget.

Member for Manly, James Griffin welcomed the Treasurer’s announcement that funding for the program would increase from $300,000 to $400,000 per year for each electorate for the next two years, representing a total of $37.2 million each year.


New Leave Provisions to Support Families

Member for Manly, James Griffin welcomed the NSW Treasurer Dominic Perrottet’s Budget announcement that public sector employees with paid special miscarriage and pre-term birth leave.

Mr Griffin said that it was good to see government leading the way in recognising an important way to support the workforce during a particularly tough time.

“Losing a child even in the early stages of pregnancy can be devastating, so I’m pleased to see this year’s Budget has measures to support public sector employees, allowing them to take five days paid special leave if this occurs,” Mr Griffin said.
