Member for Manly Welcomes Revisiting of Restrictions on 2 January

I welcome the Premier’s announcement this morning to revisit restrictions in the Manly area on the 2nd of January.

The community of Manly and the Northern Beaches have ‘dug deep’ and done their part so far to protect the rest of NSW by coming out in record numbers to get tested. I again call upon the community to come forward and get tested.

Our beautiful beaches have been matched only by our willingness to do the right thing by the rest of NSW over these past few days.

Northern Beaches Health Restrictions

I welcome the Premier’s announcement this morning of continued high levels of testing in NSW following record numbers on Monday and Tuesday. The only way we will get on top of this virus is by keeping these testing numbers high and remaining vigilant for even the mildest symptoms.

I further welcome her announcement that we will ease restrictions on households in the Manly area ahead of Christmas. This is testament to the hard work of our medical professionals and each and every person in the Manly area who has listened to the health advice, remained at home, and stopped the spread of the virus.

Multicultural Support Funding for the Northern Beaches

Member for Manly, James Griffin is encouraging culturally diverse media and grassroots groups to apply for a share of $1 million in new funding to support community-led responses to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Mr Griffin said the NSW Government funding will support the community during the ongoing challenges surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Multicultural organisations and media are critical connectors within our community,” Mr Griffin said.
