Boost for Domestic and Family Violence Services

Northern Beaches domestic and family violence services experiencing increased demand as a result of COVID-19 can now apply for a share of $9 million in Federal Government funding.

Member for Manly James Griffin said the COVID-19 Sexual, Domestic and Family Violence Grant program aimed to ensure more victim-survivors can access services at this crucial time.

“Many domestic violence services have moved quickly to innovate and adapt their supports during the pandemic – when women and children may have struggled to access help,” Mr Griffin said.


Mental Health Support on the Northern Beaches

People on the Northern Beaches are being reminded that there are a number of free, confidential and easy to access mental health supports available in person, on the phone and online around the clock.

Member for Manly James Griffin said that mental health programs and services are available both for young people and the wider community, and encouraged anyone needing assistance to reach out now.


$3.89M Upgrade for North Head Lookouts and Visitor Areas

North Head, one of Sydney’s most popular lookouts, is set to receive a $3.89M upgrade to provide safer pedestrian access and an improved visitor experience.

Environment Minister Matt Kean said this investment is recognition of the natural and cultural significance of Sydney Harbour National Park’s North Head.
