Cutting Red Tape and Increased Protections for Northern Beaches Tradies

Tradies across the Northern Beaches will now have greater protections to ensure they are paid on time and in full following the introduction of new laws by the NSW Liberals.

Member for Manly, Mr James Griffin, said changes to Security of Payments Act will deliver faster payouts for contractors and subcontractors and quicker and fairer dispute resolution.

“These reforms will raise the level of protection for local tradies and subbies so they know they’ll be paid the money they are owed on time,” Mr Griffin said.


Major Crime Categories Reduced Across the State

Major crime categories across the State have continued to remain stable or have fallen in the two years to June 2020, according to the latest Bureau of Crime Statistics and Research (BOCSAR) data published today.

Member for Manly James Griffin welcomed the report, which showed that only one of the 17 major crime categories had increased during the 24-month period across NSW.


Funding Opportunities for Youth Projects Now Open

Organisations across the Northern Beaches and NSW with programs promoting youth participation and engagement can now apply for up to $50,000 as part of the NSW Government’s Youth Opportunities Grants. 

 

Member for Manly James Griffin said this is another exciting opportunity for community groups, not-for-profits and Northern Beaches Council to help kick-start youth focused projects here locally.
