Manly Will Commemorate ANZAC Day 2021

Member for Manly and Parliamentary Secretary for Veterans James Griffin, encourages the community to attend their local Anzac Day Service to honour the service and sacrifice of the Australian Defence Force and our Veterans.

Mr Griffin said it is wonderful the local community can commemorate Anzac Day in 2021 in a responsible and safe way.

“Anzac Day dawn services and marches are able to take place,” Mr Griffin reinforced.

“With important guidelines to adhere to, including COVID Safe management plans, people are welcome to spectate and participate in ANZAC day services across NSW,

“ANZAC Day marches and services have a temporary exemption from collecting the contact details of participants and spectators while encouraging people to maintain physical distancing while at the event.”

Mr Griffin said he would be paying his respects this year at the Manly Cenotaph on the Corso with the Wandering Warriors veterans group at 10:30am on Sunday 25th.

NSW Minister for Veterans, Geoff Lee, said Anzac Day is a significant day of remembrance, stemming from the First World War and encompassing conflicts both past and present.

“It’s an opportunity for Veterans, current servicemen and servicewomen and the general public to come together and honour those who have sacrificed their lives for our freedom,” Mr Lee said.

The Dawn Service and the Anzac Day March in Sydney’s CBD will be broadcast live on ABC.
