SPORTS CLUBS ENCOURAGED TO APPLY FOR FUNDING

Member for Manly, James Griffin is encouraging local sporting organisations to apply for NSW Government Sports Grants.

Mr Griffin said there are several funds which could assist including the Local Sport Grant Program.

“Local clubs are encouraged to apply for grants from $2,000 to $20,000 for initiatives that aim to increase participation.

“A total of $50,000 is available for the Manly electorate, which is great news for our local sporting organisations.”

Mr Griffin said a Level the Playing Field Program aims to support the continued growth of women’s and girls’ sport and recreation.

“The program will fund new and upgraded facilities as well as deliver fit-for-purpose amenities, such as change rooms and improved lighting, to foster a safe and inclusive environment for women and girls.”

Mr Griffin said, “Now is the time for our clubs to shine with funding available to increase participation.”

“We know how important it is to get off the couch and stay active for our physical, mental and social wellbeing.

“Sport is a great way to stay physically fit and active, which is why I’m a big advocate for our local grassroots sporting organisations,” Mr Griffin said.
