Sydney Water Community Grants Now Open

Grassroots community groups, including all schools in NSW, can now apply for Sydney Water’s Local Community Grants Program, with over $80,000 up for grabs.

Member for Manly James Griffin said the program will award grants of up to $4,000 to groups who are already supporting their community through digital innovation initiatives; embracing diversity at a local level and demonstrating their commitment to protecting our environment.

“Last year’s successful grants focused on making a difference to the health and wellbeing of the vulnerable in our community; addressing environment issues as well as using the power of music to heal and connect,” Mr Griffin said.

Maryanne Graham, General Manager, Customer, Strategy and Engagement at Sydney Water said Sydney Water we’re extremely excited about this year’s Community Grants Program and can’t wait to hear about the fantastic initiatives being implemented by community groups across the Northern Beaches and Greater Sydney, Illawarra and the Blue Mountains.

“We encourage all eligible groups to apply, especially those with a strong commitment to diversity and inclusion, digital innovation and the environment,” said Ms Graham.

Over the past four years, Sydney Water has awarded $200,000 worth of grants to communities in their area of operations.

Online applications open on Monday 4 May and close on Friday 29 May, with recipients announced in late July.

Organisations in the following areas are eligible to apply:

  • Greater Sydney
  • Blue Mountains
  • Illawarra
